Neebing News – December 2025
A number of years ago, when I finally stopped cutting down my own Christmas tree, I bought a ‘fake’ one. I searched until I found one that actually looked as close to real as I could get. I was resigned to trading the wonderful smell of pine for convenience.
What I hadn’t realized was how much happiness it would bring me. Really. I now can put up the tree in mid-November without worrying about needle drop! I do not put on decorations yet, but having it’s soft white lights glowing in the corner of my room to brighten the ever-darkening evenings, brings a smile to my face.
This month, I will add a string of coloured lights and more ‘festive’ colours to my decorating, but that tree has started my season off right.
I hope this month brings you happiness too. Look for small ways to ‘brighten’ your own life, they don’t have to be big, just meaningful to you.

Breaking News! We have made changes to dates for our 50/50 for 2026:
Note: After the December 31st draw, tickets for the next quarterly draw, our Spring Draw, will go on sale January 6th, 2026. (not immediately after the draw on December 31st). This change is to ensure the last draw of 2026 is happens when the Municipal Office is open.

2025 Draw #4 – December 31st @1pm
2026 #1 Spring Draw– March 25th @1pm
2026 #2 Summer Draw – June 24th @1pm
2026 #3 Autumn Draw – September 23rd @ 1pm

Our intrepid Can Sorting volunteers showed up for one last Sort on November 15th. The weather stayed above freezing and the sun even came out for us! Thank you so much for those who came out for this one and those who participated this past year. The totals aren’t in yet but we helped process enough cans, bottles and metal to generate close to $11,000 for NES equipment!! Can you believe that??
All donations of beer and liquour bottles, especially, are making a huge impact on the funding we can supply to Neebing Emergency Services. Thank you to all residents from NFRA.

This event is a success each year due to your donations of baking.
Donations of cookies, bars and treats to offer for sale at the Cookie Walk are most welcome. If you can help us out, please contact a Board member, message us at nfraevents@gmail.com, or drop it off at the times below.
Baking donations can be dropped of at the Blake Hall on:
- Friday December 12th, between 11am and 1pm, or
- Saturday December 13th before the doors open at 1pm.
